Jackson's Graduation - Congrats!
A Tigers / Yankees game first. Pretty interesting because we sat by a Yankee coach of some kind. He'd call after a pitch and ask "what did the replay show?" And when a player made a second error he called and said he wanted him gone, that it wasn't working.

Pat Tillman - Honor
April is the bottom of my physical fitness cycle. It warms up in May and I get out, I exercise throughout the summer, I tail off in October, and I lose a little more than I gained over the winter each year. It was not quite as bad this year – I was able to bike and run maybe a half-dozen times over the winter.
I saw the "Pat Tillman Story" documentary and it mentioned the race to benefit his foundation, so I signed up (see the "Tillman Story" trailer at http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/article/trailer-for-the-pat-tillman-documentary-the-tillman-story ). It’s a great flick, I recommend it. Tillman played football at ASU and for the Cardinals, and turned down a multi-million dollar contract to join the Army Rangers and go to war in Iraq and Afganistan. The movie is about how he was awarded the Silver Star for bravery in sacrificing his life for others under enemy fire – and all the time the Army knew there was no enemy there, he was killed by “friendly fire” – if ever there was an oxymoron. But there was a war to justify, and a war needs heroes, not terrible mistakes.
At Pats Run, they cap the runners at 30,000 - it was huge. My goal was to run the entire way. My second goal was to finish under fifty minutes. I met both. I finished 7,518 in the men. My time was 47:33. Pretty good huh? Well, actually, no. It was horrible. They have an age 89-and-over category. And the numbers are so astounding that I have to doubt them (it says “Age - 89 – not 59, not even 69). But according to the official race stats, the first 89-and-over guy finished less than seven minutes after the winner, in 195th place overall. And exactly 20 men 89 and over beat me. Ouch. My only consolation is that I have another thirty years to train. I’d better get busy.
Mark, set, GO! They're off! The SunDevils' and Cardinals' mascots dropped out as soon as they passed the TV cameras.

Hotel Del
SoCal in March. Coronado Island, at the Hotel del Coronado. Coronado is the island that makes San Diego harbor a harbor. The Del was built in 1888 and is one of the grand dames of hotels in the US.
I worked for 2 1/2 hours so someone else could pay the bill

I'm Up for Adoption
One Boss Dog - up for adoption.
Yes, it's hard to believe, but just like the rest of you, I've decided to move. Not that I don't like grandma and grandpa, and I'm not even saying they're getting old and slow. But, well, they travel a lot. They're headed for California and then Phoenix for three weeks. And I just don't like the kennel - all that whining and barking all night you know. And it's $150 a week to keep me there, and that's $450 for the three weeks - so when I decided I'd move in with a younger crowd, someone more my age, they decided they'd pay my airfare, anywhere I wanted to go. Nice deal huh?
I'm am absolutely great with kids, of all ages - very patient.
I'm the most fun dog anyone every had, I just love to play.
It can get lonely, outside, looking in.
I think I'll go very fast, so put your papers in quick to get me.
